Lodge History
Lavonia Lodge No. 241, F.&A.M., was issued its Charter by the Grand Lodge of Georgia in October 1890.
The first Worshipful Master of Lavonia Lodge was Reverend Peter Flournoy Crawford, and according to the History of Franklin County, the Lodge met in the Tugalo Grange Hall in Lavonia.
The Lodge later met on the second floor of the building located at 177 West Main Street in downtown Lavonia. PM Herman Ayers and his wife, Margaret, operated a women's clothing store in downstairs.
In the early 1960s, the Trustees of Lavonia Lodge No. 241 purchased the old Ford Theater from H.M. Ford. The Lodge met there until 2023.
In October 2023, Lavonia Lodge No. 241 moved to the site of the former Lavonia Community Center on Poole Street.

Our Cause
Lavonia Lodge No. 241, and all the Lodges of Free and Accepted Masons in Georgia, support the Masonic Home of Georgia. This Masonic Home “provides an environment for youth to develop themselves - physically, mentally, and spiritually.”
Through Memorial Donations to the Cottage Campaign, Lavonia Lodge No. 241 is helping the Masonic Home to build homes for our Masonic Children to live in, apart from the old, dormitory style housing that was in use.
As a fundraiser for this project, the Grand Lodge of Georgia, in collaboration with the Masonic Home, has placed a large Square and Compasses on the front lawn of the Masonic Home grounds. The Children’s Garden Program allows donors to purchase and customize the pavers.
